Semester 1: Week 10
This week was dedicated to more documentation, everyone’s favorite. We decided as a team that it would be best to spend time outside of the project, solely working on the documentation as it was the best way of iterating on the aspects of the game that we liked, and left us better focused on our vision for the game when we returned to work on it. The publishing plan was formulated and then a presentation was recorded for it. Also, the GDD was polished along with the Pre-production plan with relevant milestones for the game’s duration, including Vertical Slice, Alpha, Beta, and Deliverable. Working out exactly what stage we wanted development to be at for each milestone meant we were better able to prioritize what aspects of the game were most vital to improve.
These last two weeks have been very different compared to our initial weeks with the project. It was nice for the team to take a break from making art assets/coding and focusing more on the overall design of the game. In the end, it left us all with a single, cohesive vision of how we wanted the game to turn out and left us better equipped to work toward that goal.
