Semester 1: Week 3
For this week we decided to develop the visual style of our game more with a mood board, taking bits and pieces we would like to replicate in our game. In addition, we started white boxing the game to get the framework of how the game would feel to handle, including movement and a slide mechanic.
The team chose to have a visual style that combined neon punk with the occult, which is where the inspiration for the name “Neon Demon” came from, originally a placeholder name it may be a name the team sticks with for the future of this project.
The world-changing mechanic was developed here, having inspiration from the famous Titanfall 2 level in which the player switches from the past to the present. The player will hop from a cyberpunk, robot world to a hell world as a mechanic.
A Trello was also set up for our project. This Trello will be used to assign tasks to individual and group members of the team to be completed by the end of every week. Trello is vital in making sure tasks are completed by each member and also keeps a history/record of the entire project.
