Semester 1: Week 6
This week was the start of the preparation for the prototype. An asset list for the prototype level was made and most of the assets were modelled and textured. These include buildings, vending machines, bins, signs, and a few other miscellaneous items. The first enemy was conceived as a fast, demonic melee opponent. The enemy was given basic animations, an idle, and attack animation. Also, we began to make a more concrete outline for the game’s narrative.
The enemy character was fleshed out in terms of character and design. The enemy's name is The Slasher and is one of the demon enemies that the player will have to fight in the game. They are the lowest form of life in hell and are known for their brutality and ferocity. The Slasher’s purpose in the hell is to feed on souls and keep them in a constant state of turmoil.
The slasher has no legs, allowing it to move quickly over any terrain, it has a propulsion cannon on its torso to keep it floating and long dagger-like arms that are sharp enough to pierce through any surface. A small but terrifying demon, do not engage.
Once the enemy is finished, we can begin to create AI for our game and give life The Slasher in the future.
