Semester 1: Week 7
This week the level for the prototype playtest was being given the final touches. Two signs were made and two graffiti sketches were made, both counterparts to each other. One would be for the robotic world and the other for the demonic world. The phrases “Transcend” and “Descend” were chosen for their alliteration and contrasting meaning. They make for good symmetry as well as the contrast between the two worlds.
The enemy AI code was conceived for simple enemy movements. The player’s movement was implemented into the game. Issues with the player’s double jump were fixed and scene changing was adapted into the current version of the level.
We really want this white box to show off our game concept and mechanics. This prototype should hopefully clue in players on how our game is played and the overall art style/setting as well.
We are very happy with how this Whitebox has turned out. It is very satisfying seeing all the art and code in one place, with our game idea finally being visualized. It is still far from what we want to have done for our actual game submission but gives an insight to our players on how our game will be played.
Tasks Complete:
- Enemy AI concept
- Player movement refinement
- Reality switching mechanic implemented
- Tutorial level (white box)
- New signs and posters
- Fixed double jump
